Ask a family member to read 1 Samuel 13:1-14. Saul didn't wait for the prophet Samuel to arrive; instead, he decided to make the sacrifice himself. Saul made a mistake because he didn't exercise patience. Considering what you have learned about patience, discuss these questions as a family:

Do you worry about problems and sometimes take matters into your own hands instead of trusting God to guide you? Why can this lead to mistakes?

Is trusting God difficult for you, especially when you must be patient for his answer to your prayers? Explain.

Why is it important to be patient and trust God with your life? How can knowing you are following God's plan give you peace?
