Ask a family member to read 1 Samuel 13:1-14. Saul didn't wait for
the prophet Samuel to arrive; instead, he decided to make the
sacrifice himself. Saul made a mistake because he didn't exercise
patience. Considering what you have learned about patience, discuss
these questions as a family:
• Do you worry about problems and sometimes take matters
into your own hands instead of trusting God to guide you? Why can
this lead to mistakes?
• Is trusting God difficult for you, especially when you
must be patient for his answer to your prayers?
Explain.
• Why is it important to be patient and trust God with your
life? How can knowing you are following God's plan give you
peace?
